Voice mode lets you talk through an inspection while your hands are full, and writes up the record for you. It is rolling out gradually.
Keep a proper inspection record
Log what you saw on each visit: brood, stores, the queen, temperament and any problems. Quick Log is there for when you are in a hurry, and every inspection adds to the hive's history. Your latest notes show on the apiary page too, so you can scan all your hives at a glance.
Work through an apiary, hive by hive
With a yard full of hives, saving an inspection sends you straight to a big 'next hive' button, so you can keep moving with gloves on. It tracks your progress and tells you when the apiary is done. Drag your hives into the order you walk the yard so 'next' is always the one in front of you.
Watch each colony over the season
Once a hive has a couple of inspections you get charts of colony strength and how its frames fill up. An easy way to notice a colony slipping before it becomes a problem.
Know what needs doing today
The Today tab gathers up what needs attention, which hives are overdue a look, and the best weather windows for getting into the hives this week.
Set your own reminders
Jot a reminder for a hive, like adding a super or rechecking queen cells next visit, or give it a date. Site-wide jobs work too, for things like bringing more supers. They show on the hive, on the apiary page, and on Today, where you tick them off as you go.
See what is in flower
Give an apiary a location and it shows what is flowering nearby, plus when the main nectar and pollen plants bloom near you. Useful for staying ahead of the June gap.
Keep in touch with other beekeepers
Join a local group for a shared events calendar, a newsletter, and a place to ask questions. Beekeeping is easier with people nearby.
The practical bits
Keep a treatment record that meets the UK rules, move hives between apiaries, export everything you have recorded, and use the app offline when there is no signal at the apiary.
